My Tools & Gadgets

The following are things that I have found useful, helpful, or have just come to rely on:

 Excel
[For her "meds check lists" for home and Lucianna's school. With so many meds, you can't always remember if you administered them or not.  This really helps.  I keep it on a clip board on my kitchen island.]

Spreadsheet from hell...this is actually a better version.  Last week, drops were hourly.

For hourly drops reminders:
[I had one at home & gave one to the school. Bed, Bath & Beyond: $4 - Now that she's on drops every two hours, I have used the "clock" app on my iphone. It works great and I can set all the alarms and keep them until I need them again the next day.]

Oral Syringe & Dosage Stopper:
(I personally never feel that all the meds come out of a "kids dosage spoon" - the Naproxen is so thick that much of the medicine just sticks in the long spoon tube. I prefer the syringe.  For small size bottles this white stopper goes inside the bottle and the syringe can draw it up no matter how much is left in the bottle, because you can safely turn the bottle upside down.  For large bottles, we usually pour the meds into a little cup, and use a larger syringe since we need 6 mls and then pour the leftovers back in. )  The below gadget was purchased at CVS for about $3.  I have yet to see them for the big bottles.  If your insurance allows, Target's RX bottles already come with the plunger, making it so easy to administer and use every last drop.)

 First Years Ignite Stroller
[This was one of the first things we bought since Lucianna couldn't really walk far or much of the summer.  She weighs roughly 31 lbs which is very tough for us to carry around.  This stroller can accommodate children up to 50lbs.  It was a lifesaver for home and for the school. Bella who is 42lbs can ride it fairly comfortably.  It's on Amazon for $60 - a steal!  2015 update: This stroller was discontinued, but if you are looking for a stroller, search for strollers that accept higher weights. ]

Step 2  - Stool
[We "borrowed" this from our girl's mini kitchen set and use it at the school so that Lucianna always has a seat that is strictly hers.  She can freely sit in all the play area's without having to sit on the floor or stand. It's the perfect height for her.]

....and the list will grow.
